Yes, in the pro version, you can do it using the Link feature: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/371-link
unfortunately, the Link feature is not available in the Free version.

However, you can switch slides with custom coding in both versions: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/312-move-to-slides-with-javascript
so you could add a custom class to the button layer at the layer window’s Settings tab: http://imgur.com/a/OMDdK
and you can use the example at the bottom of the page to build your custom code with this new class:
