• First time install of WordPress for a client and Im having problem working out how to link to a another page. When I click on the link button in the editor it gives me the option to type in the URL which is alright if I was running the site, but my client may have some probs..

I was wondering if there is a plug in available that makes linking to pages a lot easier, ie if you click on the insert link it gave you a list of pages and posts that are in the site and you could click on to create your link.

Has this been done and I have overlooked it?

  • You could try looking in the WP plugin repository in this section.

Incidentally, no offence but if your client can’t even handle the most basic of HTML concepts should they be running a website? 😉

There is only one thing worse than an ignorant client: an ignorant web “designer/developer” who cannot read the online manual

    (hint: template tags > wp_list_pages)

What an asshat! 101Phil wasn’t asking about how to generate a list of pages. He was asking about linking to a single page/post on the same blog.

Old news. Dead horse. 8 month old thread. Moot point. However, since my hat has TWO asses, a left ass and a right ass, I’ll bite.

I’m betting moshu’s response was most likely an oxymoronic (you know, cruel to be kind sorta’ thing) approach to what (even as I read it again now), seems to be a question so far beneath the basic knowledge required of anyone maintaining a web user client base, that it is almost funny. I interpret the question as asking this… “Is there a plugin that will type a link/hyperlink/web address for my client?” I can hear moshu laughing. oops.. nope, that’s me.

So as I turn to exit and politely extend my hat(s) and a nod in your general direction, I will bid you good day, sir. And thanks for the chuckle!

    Peace!

There is one thing worse than stated in the above comments and that is arrogant comments from “designer/developers” that give the WordPress forum a bad name and deter people from seeking genuine help from the “so-called” pros. You should be proud of yourselves. Oh that’s right you are. Not!
