Support » Plugins and Hacks » ‘Link This’ javascript bookmarklet for LinkManag

  • I had been wanting to get this done for a long time and I had a few minutes to debug it and find the errors. I dont see the “Link This” link under the profile (a couple weeks old CVS) and so I figured I would share the hack.
    This is the javascript bookmarklet:
    javascript:void(linkmanpopup=window.open(‘http://link.to.your.weblog/wp-admin/linkmanager.php?action=popup&linkurl=’+escape(location.href)+’&name=’+escape(document.title),’LinkManager’,’scrollbars=yes,width=750,height=550,left=15,top=15,status=yes,resizable=yes’));linkmanpopup.focus();window.focus();linkmanpopup.focus();
    This should work just fine under IE, no problems detected.
    Under Mozilla (Nightly-builds or beta):
    Do a search for prefs.js on your system.
    Find the following line and delete it:
    user_pref(“capability.policy.default.Window.open”, “noAccess”);
    The javascript should work fine at that point.
    Note to the developers: took out the space in ‘Link Manager’ in the javascript to get the javascript to work in IE
    Peace

    TG, Thats where I got the original from. The hacks make it work in both Mozilla and IE. Can you get the default one (from inside the Link manager) to work on your computer without the hack?

    No, the standard link this doesn’t work in IE (but does in Firebird, yay.)

    LL – I am using Mozi/FB, so, it works for me. Only time I fire up IE is to make sure sites I’m developing look ok.
