Support » Plugin: Save and Share Cart for WooCommerce » Link saved but cart empty

    Hi,

I think the plug-in is installed properly. I can save, copy and email my cart (and recaptcha working fine). However, the links appear to be empty.

For example, under “My Accounts – Saved carts” I see my saved cart. But when I click on the link, I get a URL that is /…/wcssc-cart/58dea70e5942cd1956780c0ef8f3d3ae/ and shows an empty page.

The same URL is also emailed if I chose to email.

To minimize any potential conflicts with my theme, I am using the default Storefront theme.

Unfortunately, I am developing on a local server so I can’t share a URL with you. But do you have any suggestions as to why the carts can’t be accessed?

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi,

I am working on the same issue, as similar issue has been reported by some other users as well.

I will investigate and come back with solution in few hours.

    Thanks for reporting the same.

    Hi,

Thanks for the fast response and no worries!

On another note, I know my theme has a conflict with your plug-in as when I use my theme, nothing happens when I click on the “Share Cart” button. The button shows up but nothing happens when I click it.

I realize this is a bit of a general question… but any suggestions on what might typically cause your button to not do anything? I assuming it’s a conflict from my theme’s cart.php

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

I am able to replicate issue on my local system now, it seems that this is happening because of update in WooCommerce plugin.

I am fixing the issue and you should soon receive the plugin update, once issue has been fixed, I will inform you so that you can update the plugin and start using it flawlessly.

    Hi,

Thanks again for the fast response.

In the meantime, I’m still trying to figure out why my old theme conflicts with your plug-in. Please let me know if you are aware of any common reasons as to why the “share cart” button appears but nothing happens when clicked. I’m assuming it’s something with my theme as your plug-in does initiate a save cart with the default Woocommerce theme.

    Best regards,

    Paul

Regarding the conflict with the theme, can you see any errors in browser console?

@wpgurudev Don’t put ?filter=5 in your review links, it hides the non-5 star reviews from the person who uses that link and that’s not being completely honest. That’s not necessary as the stars default to 5 for all new reviews. The reviewer would manually need to change it to something other than 5 if they wanted to.

I’ve removed that part and now they’ll see the actual reviews and not just the 5 star ones.

    Hi,

Thanks for the fast fix! I can save my cart and copy to clipboard. But I can’t seem to send by email (and no other changes that I’m aware of).

When I click on the email icon, the button flashes for a second (with the usual spinning work animation) but nothing happens.

Can you confirm that it’s working in your environment?

    Thanks,

    Paul

P.S. I have another question on option but I will start a new thread.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the confirmation.

Can you please confirm if you have correctly filled up email settings?

Atleast, Email Body is needed to be filled up at minimal level. For more information on same, please refer the documentation: https://github.com/ankitrox/share-cart/blob/master/README.md#email

I added the email body and it sends out now (forgot when I set up a new site).

However, the email sent out is just the email body message but no link. I can save the link and copy it to my clipboard. But the email is just the message with no attachment or link.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Please use {cart_link} placeholder on your email body. At the time of sending email, it will be replaced by actual cart link.

Let me know if it helps.

    Hi,

    That works now. Thanks!

However, I still can’t get the “share cart” button to work with my theme (only works with Storefront theme). I’ve tried a couple of other “save cart” and “save to wishlist” plug-ins and they all work ok with my theme (it’s old but seems to be okay with all my plug-ins so far).

When I click the button, nothing happens.

Do you have any idea what might conflict with the button on your plug-in to keep it from operating? Unfortunately, my site is local so I don’t have a URL.

    Thanks.
