Hello. We use Matterport tours on a couple of sites, but we’re having a terrible time with them glacially slowing down page load times. We receive a boatload of preheater app warnings per page, each can take up to 6 seconds to process. Other warnings as well, and they are all tied to Matterports. I reached out to Matterport, but got no response.

I’ve just stumbled across your plugin, which works great for placing tours directly on the page. With the current build, we have iframes placed into popups so that they can be triggered by buttons. I can’t find a way to do this with your plugin. I tried placing the shortcode into a popup, but that doesn’t work. Hoping to find a solution to this issue. We initially had the Matterports directly on this page, but opted for popups (when you click the image) because the action could be tracked in Analytics.

Model home pages also have two “Take a 3D Tour” buttons per page, also that trigger popups.

Hope you have a suggestion for me. Thanks for your time.

Sorry for the long delay. I don’t get notifications for support requests. Not sure why.

I too felt that embedding too many of these slowed down load time INCREDIBLY! I made this plugin to solve that — and Matterport even contributed to a feature by allowing my width= and height= parameters to actually load images served from their servers with the specified width and height!

I’m thinking that you may have solved the problem as your pages look great. The first URL provided shows several embeds that pop-up fine — but I understand that the supplied modal doesn’t track analytics for you.

The second URL is your own implementation of course.

So in trying to understand the request — I think that you might consider forking my plugin for you own purposes. You might be able to edit the JS file and add some code to the jQuery click action that would either work with your analytics — or simply change it from opening with Magnific Pop-Up to opening with your company’s own pop-up solution.

    I hope this is helpful.

Thanks. One other question, if I could. I have labels set to hidden, but I’m still getting a black bar underneath. Basically, the black background underneath the video extends about 8px down from the bottom. I can’t find a way to eliminate that. It does that on all tour shortcodes.

May I have a link so that I may debug?
