Sorry for the lack of response. I was travelling to China last week.

Have you been keeping up with recent updates in past two months? Do you know if the search stopped working in version 6.0, or only in some of the more recent updates?

One thing I suggest trying is going to the Global Options page and checking the options labeled: ‘Links appear in search results’ and ‘Individual link pages can be seen by visitors’. I can do searches without these being checked on my site, but perhaps this is part of the issue.

Otherwise, you are adding the search box with the [link-library-search] shortcode, right? Are you adding any options to that shortcode? What about the [link-library] shortcode, any parameters there?

what worked for me.. I went to general and selected options labeled: ‘Links appear in search results’ and ‘Individual link pages can be seen by visitors’.

I also clicked on “reimport links” and that brought everything back. Thank you!

Great. Let me know if you run into further issues.

    OP here …
I tried running the Re-Import Links. No changed with search results. I also tested with the ‘Links appear in search results’ and ‘Individual link pages can be seen by visitors’ checked and unchecked. Still no change.

This is the code that I have placed in a Code Block on the page https://salkeiz.k12.or.us/about-us/qam/ – “[link-library settings=12]” (not including the quote marks).

Since I work for a school district and most are out on summer break, there hasn’t been a lot of activity on the libraries until recently. So I’m not sure when the Search function stopped working. I can say that it was working at the start of June.

… And the search box is [link-library-search settings=12]

Sorry about that. I had not realized it was two different posters. I will unfortunately be away for the next week, back Friday Aug 10th. I will be able to look further into this when I get back.

My Search box is not working. It worked well prior to upgrading to version 6.0. I am now updated to Version 6.1.13. I had to reimport all the links to get it work after upgrading to 6.0. I have checked the boxes for “Individual link pages can be seen by visitors” and “Links appear in search results” in global settings.

The search page is configured as follows:

    [link-library-search]

    [link-library settings=15]

No matter what I search for I get no results. When there is no text in the search box the page returns “All of your links must be assigned at least to one category to be displayed”. I never see this error elsewhere and the plugin works excellently in most other respects.

Thanks for your excellent plugin and I hope you can help me solve this problem!

I ended up removing all of the search boxes from my link libraries. I’d love to be able to put the search boxes back if we can figure out why they stopped working.

I deactivated Relevanssi. This seems to have restored my link search functionality.

Are mlustig and tissksd the same person? Is this issue resolved after deactivating Relevanssi for both of you?

No, not the same person but apparently we had the same problem. My problem resolved when I deactivated Relevanssi. Thank you for asking.

I do still have another smaller, but annoying problem. When I first access the page with the search box (ie, before search terms have been entered), I always get a message about “links must be assigned to at least one category to appear” (approximately) and I can’t get it to not appear. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the best plugin and support ever.

Relevanssi is a pretty important plugin for my organization. We have a large website and a good search tool is needed for our users. So if we can get Link Library to play nicely with Relevanssi, that would be great. Or is there a different search plugin that you know works with Link Library?

Can you try to see if the latest update that I just pushed out works better with Relevanssi? I just corrected an error that was causing trouble with site search that might also have caused trouble with that plugin.

    Hi Yannick,

Thanks for following up on this!

I have updated the Link Library plugin to 6.1.18 and Relevansi is at 4.1.1.1.

Here’s an active page with the search box installed with the link library: https://salkeiz.k12.or.us/parents/

I’m still getting no search results back.

I working on getting a DEV environment setup so I can test out the many plugins the site is using to see if it is something else that is conflicting with Link Library.
