    I tried to change the look of my links with code

 * It doesn’t seem to be taking effect; any ideas?

 * Which file are you modifying with the editor? Typically most CSS edits are made
   inside of style.css although depending upon the theme you are using it may be
   placed elsewhere.
 * It is possible that the right element isn’t being targeted either. If you could
   provide us with a link to your website and a better description of how you want
   to change the links we can probably help you out 🙂

    I have finally downloaded Fire fox ; Is the idea that you edit using the
   live edit function which creates a box at the bottom of the page? I couldn’t 
   work out how to get inputted text to stay there?

 * The Firebug add-on (which you have to install separately) is a tool that allows
   you to examine and manipulate CSS via your browser but you have to make your 
   final changes to your theme’s CSS.
