Link Categories help.

    @srichards001

    Im trying to understand what exactly, if any, the purpose of link categories are. I’ve added a link category and put links in said category and for some reason that category doesn’t show up on my WP mainpage.

    You’d think it would create somehting like this:

    Of course it doesn’t though, or maybe im doing something wrong. You would think that categories would add organization not only within the admin panel but on the site as well for the users.

    Can anyone help me with this dilemma? It would be much appreciated.

  • How the links are displayed depends on which tag was used in the theme you have. If you want it to be more organized, take a look at the Link tags available in the Codex

    Could you please elaborate, my background is in design and not in coding, all of this php stuff means nothing to me.

    Is there an easy way to go about doing what I showed?

    In your template, there’s a tag which generates your list of links. Since I don’t know what template you are using; I cannot say which one. The Codex describes several tags which generate the list of links. Probably, you’ll want to use the get_links_list.
