I’ve recently changed my website and would like to link my “Blog” page to WordPress, but I’m not sure how to go about it.

Here is the page on my site: http://richardbist.com/blog.html. As you can see, it’s set up to pull a date, title, and short excerpt.

Once I set up a WordPress blog, is there a way to link the posts to the blog page on my personal site so the date/title/excerpt update whenever I upload a new post to my blog?

I know basic HTML, but this is far beyond my abilities. Any feedback or direction would be appreciated.

  • Your question really isn’t about WordPress because the site you linked to isn’t a WordPress site. That’s a template that is beyond the scope of the kind of support offered here, but generally you would have to use whatever admin section you have for your current site and edit the links to redirect to the blog posts on your WordPress installation.

Why not just forget the template you have there and build your entire site using WordPress. Then you can use the WordPress features to handle all the concerns for you. In fact, the very concern you are having is automatically handled by WordPress itself.

There are plenty of WordPress resume, vcard and one-page themes that can do the type of site you currently have. What you are trying to do now is integrate two different websites which creates a lot more work than using WordPress alone, which can more than accomplish what you are attempting to present.

Thanks, Prometheus Fire. That’s just what I needed to know.
