Starting March, 10th, link ads units are history.

But for few of us, it was the best of the ads we could have.

Is there a way of replacing them?

AdSense advise me to replace it with in-feed textual ads, but no luck for now with that. We are far away of the link ads.

They were nice, feeting perfectly in my design, not hurting the eyes of my users.
Plus, the keywords they displayed were totally in scope with the users, and the page behind, showing more possibilities, could be clicked more often on a ad.

What are the credible alternatives today? Do you guys have some tests to share?

    Hi Jori,

I am sorry to hear that you are hit by the deprecation of the link unit format of AdSense.

If you integrated these link units with Advanced Ads, the plugin takes care that your ad space doesn’t stay unfilled and will automatically convert them to standard display ads.

On my websites, the link units never worked very well. Nevertheless, I’m a big fan of text links and recommend testing some affiliate text links to replace the ad link units if businesses match your website’s content.

You can find more information about the deprecation of the link unit format and some suggestions for alternatives in this post.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
