Support » Fixing WordPress » Lining up row text entries not working

  • Resolved nhfred

I have as section on my website where I have rows that contain text (title) then in the same row some spaces and graphics that I am trying to get to line up. Like “Rating on the Food Service” “****” with the “*” being photos reduced to a small size. Now many of them do line up so but several don’t. I go into the WordPress editor mode and get them to visually line up the way I want them, but when I save and publish to my website they are still out of whack. I created the original design in Artisteer where also they lined up correctly, but the export and upload to WordPress did not keep the alignment.

    Any suggestions?

  • Try using a browser tool like Firebug to work with the CSS – it should show you the CSS controlling the alignment.

Thanks – I did try Firebug Lite with Chrome, but was soon aver my head and could not figure out the places I needed to change.

Then I read that WordPress tends to not obey “returns” as a spacing command and that I should activate the Ultimate TinyMCE Editor for a Line Break Button. I did this and when I used the button (a bold B icon) it moved my lines so they were aligned in the editor and STAYED aligned after I saved the changes.
