Lines of Code
-
Hi Guys,
I’m in the process of comparing SEO plugins for use on up to 12 websites and I’ve narrowed the choice down to two: Rank Math and a Well Known Other (WKO).
I note in your Readme that you say Rank Math has 30K lines of code compared with 50K+ for other plugins which immediately struck me as a major factor in favor of Rank Math.
But not being one for taking things at face value, I did some testing of my own using 3 widely available tools. Just going on the lines of code (ignoring comments, spaces etc) and without using any command line parameters, this is what I found:
Testing Tool | Rank Math | WKO --------------|--------------|---------- SCC | 70733 | 54370 Tokei | 73603 | 56672 Cloc | 63645 | 51995
The most recent versions of RM and WKO were used with both being downloaded from wp.org.
So that obviously came as a bit of a disappointment as I’d always considered WKO as quite bloated.
I’m just wondering where I’ve gone wrong? What method do you use to count the number of lines in RM and can I subsequently use that same method to count the number of lines in the WKO plugin?
Thanks very much.
