# line breaks using html & trouble with functions.php

 * Hi guys,
 * I want to activate html in wordpress.
    I use the customizr theme and followed
   the steps outlined [here](http://presscustomizr.com/support-forums/topic/feature-request-line-breaks-in-featured-text/)
 * The person posting here has the same wish I have: Use line breaks on the front
   page.
 * However, as soon as I paste [this ](http://presscustomizr.com/snippet/html-entities-shortcodes-featured-pages/)
   recommended snippet into my child theme’s functions.php directory my site crashes.
 * This actually holds true for any snippet I’ve ever pasted into the functions.
   php directory. All I do is copy the table’s entire content and than paste it 
   underneath the “paste underneath this line” line. Are you able to tell me what
   I’m doing wrong?
    Or can you guide me to a way that doesn’t corrupt my site?

   forum
