# Line breaks missing inside blockquote, code

 * The theme I’m using (Hemmed) doesn’t add paragaphs inside of blockquotes or code
   elements, as every other theme I’ve used does. The upshot is that I my blockquotes
   and code are stripped of the line breaks I put in when I write the post. How 
   can I fix this without manually adding br tags to every post on my entire site?

 * Okay, on further review, it’s not just Hemmed, it’s everything. I never used 
   to have to put paragraph tags everywhere — what’s up?

 * I seem to have fixed it by disabling Markdown. Is that the only way?
