    Hello,

we recently updated BackWpUp from a rather old version to 5.20. Then created a daily DB-only backup job with a limit of 10 backups stored on the server.

The limit does not work, I heve 17 backups stored now. I suspect there are 2 different jobs running, one of the old plugin version and one of the new one. In the backup list in the column “data” there are 2 different icons, one with the database symbol and one with 3 dots on top of each other. When I move the mouse over them I see things like “EJ3P85BP05”.

    What is going on here?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your message!

Regarding the “three dots” icon in the Backup History — this typically appears for jobs that were created and run before version 5.0.5. In such cases, the data type in the history may show as unknown.

That said, it’s possible that a legacy job is still active, causing the duplicates and exceeding your limit. Could you please check under:

Advanced Settings > Jobs > Access to Legacy Jobs
If you see any legacy jobs still active, you can delete or deactivate them to avoid overlap with your new job.

Let me know what you find, and we’ll go from there!

    Best regards,
    The BackWPup Team

Ah yes, I can see and delete legacy jobs here. Thanks.
But it’s not possible to modify them…the radiobuttons don’t work. (I checked Mozilla Plugins but found nothing that got in the way…)

    Hi,

Yes, that’s expected — in the current version, legacy jobs can be reactivated and run, but they can’t be modified via the UI. The radio buttons and other input fields are intentionally disabled due to structural changes in how jobs are handled in version 5.x.

If you need to edit the job, the only way for now is to recreate it using the new job creation wizard. That’ll give you full control over schedule, storage, and data selection.

    Thanks for your understanding!

This is very confusing…the UI looks broken, as if an AdBlocker Plugin has done things wrong. But ok, now I know.

    Thank you very much!
