• Hey there everyone,

I just got a test instance installed of wordpress and I need to make some changes. I would like to remove the dashboard functionality for subscribers and contributors (the default user type) and only allow contributors to:

    Update their profile
Submit articles for review (post articles)

I have seen a couple of different plugins for altering the layout of the dashboard, but I am sure that there is something like this either within wordpress or as a plugin already. It would be really cool if I could have a page for submitting articles that is just kind of separate from everything, and not in the wp-admin area.

I appreciate any and all help.

  • I am also looking for the same thing (to allow subscribers to update profile, submit posts/articles).

I’m using the Registers Plus and Members Only plugins for privacy, but a subscriber can still log in and see their dashboard – most concerned with the Tools being visible. I’d like them only to be able to update their profile from their dashboard.

    Using WordPress 2.7

I am also looking for a solution to this issue.

Me too – I want guest writers to be able to submit articles without going to the wp-admin – some kind of skin to make it match the rest of the site, or just a form page to submit articles would be super. Thanks in advance if you’ve got the answer!
