    Hello,
In the free version of the plugin is there not an option to Select what you want from the “Categories” on the frontend? Meaning someone is looking at the page that displays the Connections entries and if they want to select from a pull down and see only certain items?

Is there not a search feature on this free version?

Is there not the ability to get a Google Map to show under each persons section? Meaning when someone clicks on a business and it goes to that businesses section why isn’t the map showing up? BTW I have the latitude and longitude info in there wondering why map is not showing up. Or in order for this to work I have to put in our Google API info?

Are there no other templates to use to display on the frontend how information looks?

It seems to be very limited on the free version on how you display info – which I get it – but it’s almost not enough to truly try out the Connections Plugin. I think some of the things I am asking for are in your paid version(s)?

Sorry for all the questions – I just can’t get a proper assessment on the free version of your tool and just wonder if I was missing how to do some things.

    Thank You,
    Ruth

This feature is added by the premium templates. Here’s the link to them:

I recommend the cMap template for most uses. Here’s the link to that template:

This too is a feature of the premium templates.

RE: Are there no other templates to use to display on the frontend how information looks?

Yes, as mentioned there are several premium templates which change the display and add additional features. That said, the included free templates, you do have some control over the style. Navigate to the Connections Template admin page and click the Customize button for the template you are using. This will open the the Customizer and let you decide on the info to display (mostly all on be default). Make sure to to click the Back Arrow in the upper left of the Customizer to access additional template options.

Of the premium templates, only the cMap has incorporated the Customizer and has many more options when compared to the free Default template. The other premium template can still be tweaked but must be done with shortcode option. The Customizer support was added first to the free templates.

That is fair, depending on your needs. For most users, the free features are way more features than they need. Most new features are added to to the free plugin. If I had to guess at a percentage, I would say at least 98%. Most time is spent on support and adding new free features to the plugin.

A recent example is the new highly customizeable Team Block:

Presently I am working on a new Carousel/Slider block which will also be included as a free feature. And I have even more blocks planned and added for free.

    I hope this helps!

Thank You I am impressed with your responses and response time.

I was looking through some of your samples, these are a couple that might suit our needs. Would these be achievable in the “Free Version” and based on your previous answer we would follow your info to try to emulate?

Would it be possible in a private email to send you a link to our website to show you what we are currently using and you could let us know if you have a scenario that could be used?

    Thank You,

The Cedar Rapids site is using the Tile Plus template. And the Rutgers Ed site is using a slightly modded template, Slim Plus template. Could you mimic these with the free template? Well, technically yes, but, would require you to write CSS. Depending on you skill/knowledge this could be easy or hard. If that is path you feel you can take, here’s a link to developer doc which explains how you can use custom CSS with the templates.

You can use the Contact link at the very bottom of the home page:

I have gone to your contact link and sent you an email. Thank You thus far for the responses to our questions.

    Thank You,
