# limitations with bootstrap build

 * It appears building the page structure in bootstrap would give me total control
   over the design (mostly static pages for a chef). Yes it would take a bit longer
   to put together upfront integrating the php and learning more wordpress, but 
   at least the client’s family could access the website in the future.
 * It also seems like this way I would be able to keep the site lean and clean, 
   which is very attractive. This is a family gig, so the dev side of things would
   be mine in the future. Are there any other general limitations I am missing?

 * Bootstrap will give you **less control** over the design. It defines most of 
   the pages’ **structure** and a lot of **other elements**, which will make coding
   easier **but** give you less control. You’ll have to **overwrite** the Bootstrap
   elements or introduce your own, which might add **unnecessary** code and make
   the site **less lean**.
 * There are **starter themes** like [https://wordpress.org/themes/generatepress/](https://wordpress.org/themes/generatepress/)
   [https://wordpress.org/themes/astra/](https://wordpress.org/themes/astra/) that
   are **very lean** and offer a lot of **room** for your own design.
 * If you’re set on using **Bootstrap**, there’s a few **starter themes** that will
   make it much easier for you **to create a custom WordPress theme using Bootstrap**:
