Support » Plugin: YOP Poll » Limit vote not working on Firefox/Chrome

I really love this plugin but I have a problem: the limit vote is working well on Safari but not on Firefox, Chrome or on the iPhone. In my case, an user must be allowed to vote only 1 time per poll.
The rest is fine everywhere, by example the number of responses an user can propose.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi ericrozen,

Please tell us what settings you make in your poll so that your users can vote only 1 time per poll.

    Regards,

    YOP Team

First, sorry for the mistakes, my wordpress and your plugin are in French… 🙂

    In “Other Options”:
    Use CAPTACHA: no
    Vote permmissions: users and visitors
    Vote as WordPress user: no
    Vote as Anonymous User: no
    Block users: don’t’ block
Limit of votes per user: 1
    Model: Grey

It’s working fine on Safari, I have the sentence “you have run out of votes!”

But not on Firefox, Chrome or iPhone…

    Thanks for your help…

    Hey Eric,

You can limit the number of votes per user only if the users are logged (in their WordPress accounts). This also means that Vote Permissions has to be set to Registered Users Only.

We tested several times and it works properly on all browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome).

Instead of limiting how many times they can vote, another option would be to block the voters by Cookie & Ip. You can set a time interval (30 days, for example). This means that once an user votes, for the next 30 days he will not be able to vote again on the same poll since he’s blocked (by cookie and IP).

If you choose the second method, both logged and unregistered users will be able to vote.

    Best wishes,

    YOP Team

It’s working! Thanks a lot for this GREAT support!!!!
