Set the default category in the category editor, then turn off the category input for users to select in event input settings. Users won’t be able to choose a category, and all events will be placed in the default category.

I did this and it seems that I (the admin and site owner) am not allowed to change the category either. I selected the check box that states “Administrators see all input options.” However, it is not working. It is also not posting in the default category that I selected.

Sorry! This is a bug – I’ll get it fixed in the next release.

For administrators being able to see all fields, they may still need to enable it in the Screen Options; that’s a user-specific option. Allowing access to administrators doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be enabled by default, but it will be available to be enabled.

No big deal. When do you plan for that to be released?

Got it working! Love the plugin. I was able to edit the actual default category to name it for what I wanted. So i got it working.

Fairly soon — within the next week or two, I hope, but I have such a busy scheduler right now that I haven’t been able to commit to a specific date yet…

I understand that. No big deal. Like I said I found a way around it. Any other big updates in the new release?

Nothing really big; it’s more of a “final pass” bug clean out of this series before I start on thenextmajor updates.
