Limit To Taxonomy with multiple limitations

When I use limit to taxonomy with the following, post_tag=-3286, the widget works fine. When I add a second tag such as post_tag=-3286, -494, the widget disappears. Similarly is I add another taxonomy such post_tag=-3286&author=3901, the widget also disappears.
