Limiting purchases to one item per order doesn’t work on my site. All products are limited to one per order.
However, you can submit an order to the cart and return to the same product to order it again.
You can’t do this at the same time on the product (a message appears stating that you can’t). However, if you go to another part of the site and return to the product, you can purchase it and have the same item in your cart more than once.
This didn’t happen to me before. I have the latest version of WooCommerce and the rest of the plugins installed. The system is also the latest version.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hi there!

Thanks for detailing the issue with limiting purchases to one item per order. I understand how important it is to strictly enforce this limit to maintain order control and avoid accidental duplicates in the cart.

I tried to replicate the issue on your site using this product:
    https://motorextremo.es/en/producto/rodada-circuito-de-portimao-domingo-17-agosto-2025/
However, I wasn’t able to reproduce the problem.

I added the product to the cart, then returned to the homepage and selected the same product again. When I tried to add the same variation, I received the expected error message:
“You can’t add another ‘Portimao Circuit Ride – Sunday 17 August 2025 – Advanced’ to your cart.”

To assist you better, could you please share a screen recording showing the exact steps to replicate the issue on your end?

I optimized the database, and now it works correctly when trying to order the same product with the same variants.
But it keeps happening when trying to order the same product with different variants. It’s actually the same product, so I don’t know how to fix it.
On my website, customers shouldn’t be able to purchase the same product more than once, even if they have different variants.
Any ideas on how to fix this, please?

This is a screen capture of cart. You can see, same product, two different variants…

    Hi @motorextremo,

Thank you for the clarification. I reviewed your initial message, and I see you mentioned you’ve managed to limit variation orders to 1 item per customer, but it’s not working as expected.

To clarify, WooCommerce doesn’t have a built-in feature to restrict orders by user, product, or order count — it allows unlimited orders by default. This makes your request fall outside our support scope.

If you’re using a plugin to achieve this, we recommend reaching out to the plugin’s support team for help. If you’ve implemented this using custom code, it may be best to consult with a developer or an expert from a platform like Codeable.io.

Ok I will check plugins in your site and check them.

Thanks for your help. Best Regards…
