• Hi fellow nerds!

I’m a WordPress n00b who likes to do things the easiest possible way.

Does anyone know how to limit the number of blog posts displayed JUST where that blog page is shown on the front page? I’m hoping this can just be done w/ a little additional CSS.

Ideally it would be an option in the theme customization, but… no such luck.

    Thank you endlessly! 🙏🏻

  • Hi, laurakayecreations, you can modify the number of blog posts that are shown on the homepage by editing the homepage and choosing a value for the number of items in the latest post block.

Please see these images below to understand what I’m talking about:

@plantprogrammer Thank you for the suggestion!!

The funny thing is, since I’m using the parallax scroll front page setup through Theme Options, I don’t actually have a block for latest blog posts. They appear automatically, and so far they allll appear on the homepage. 😄

Since this n00b can’t figure out how to attach an image… here’s how I set up the front page sections.

For me, those don’t create editable blocks on the Home Page editable page itself. Should I switch to a different way of setting up the home page, or is there another workaround?

    Many, many thanks, Ian!

Hi, laurakayecreations, my understanding is that “Podcast Episodes” is a page, which has content that can be modified, right?

I’m testing the functionality that you’re describing on a test site, and I see that the menu options presented are pages taken from the site.

Hi @plantprogrammer you are so kind for looking into this!

It is indeed a page, but I actually don’t see the option to change the # of posts displayed there (maybe because some of them are auto-generated from our podcast distributor?? Though that shouldn’t interfere…). Basically it’s a blog post page that automatically shows all posts with a certain Category.

Also, ideally I would like to be able to change just the number of posts that appear on the front page, independent of how many show up on the page itself. 😇

    Again, thank you, angel stranger!

Hi, laurakayecreations, I realize what the issue: you’re looking at the wrong block, as I can see in your image you’re looking at the group block.

Instead, you have to look at the individual blocks within the grouping.
