• Is there a way to limit the dimensions of the full size uploaded image?

I have clients that upload huge files straight from digital cameras with resolutions sometimes as high as 4928 x 3262. There is simply no need for images that size.

Some clients choose to link the thumbnails to the actual Media file which results in the huge image being displayed to the browser.

Limiting Full Size images is a worth addition in my opinion. Is it possible via functions.php?

    Thanks,

    Chris.

  • This is exactly what I’m looking for, too.

How are the images being uploaded? Are you coding your own plugin that has an upload function or trying to resolve an issue with a current plugin or feature of wordpress?

I’m using WP 3.5.1 and the built in media manager … which is nice except, that ith uploads images of 5000 pixels and more

The plugin Resize Images before Upload seem not to work with the new media manager of 3.5.1 🙁
