Limit characters of image captions

    Hi.

    Is it possible to limit the number of characters shown in gallery using “caption” template ?

    I’m using the latest NextGen Gallery plugin and shortcode of [nggallery id=x template=caption]

    Which creates captions under the thumbnails, but I’d like to limit the numbers of characters, shown under the image thumbnail, as some captions are longer than usual and then the whole layout seems weird.

    @tilen – I would suspect you could create a copy of the caption template and then use a standard PHP function to trim the characters being displayed. Maybe have a look at wp_trim_words(), it might provide help with what you have in mind.
