Is there a way to display long alternative text in multiple lines with the same width as the large image (to prevent it from extending off the viewable screen)?

Hi, you probably have the option Title Position set to Float? Best to select one of the alternative Title display options like inside outside or overlay for long titles.

Is it possible to change the font size and color if I set the alternative title display option to outside?

The text color and size defaults to your theme’s body font color and size. You could add a custom css rule in your theme customiser like this:
```
#fancybox-title {
  color: red;
  font-size: 1.5rem;
}
```
