Like / Reaction System that work with Gamipress and Custom Post types

Hey,
I’ve been experimenting past few months with Gamipress to create triggers with custom post types. I’ve learned to get trigger when new post is created and deleted. I’d like to know if there is a way to integrate a like button that rewards the Author when visitors like a Custom Post. I know it is possible via Buddypress, but thats too heavy and complicated for the website I’m looking for. I don’t want to use Buddypress.
