I also noticed that if I sit on the album screen with the thumbnails showing for awhile (the second link above), the images begin to disappear… strange behavior!
I found the cause of the problem, but i do not have a solution yet.
The cause is that there is no ‘poster image’.
You can create a poster image as follows:
take a screen capture of the start of the video, trim it down to the actual image.
Name it exactly the same as the video, but wit extension .jpg and FTP and IMPORT it to the same album as the video resides.
This should fix it, but i will work on a fix.
I fixed it. It will be released in 6.4.08, likely today.
Hi Jacob, either the fix is not working right or you may have introduced some new problems – I can’t tell… It is possible that some settings I have been using changed to different behavior and that I just need to fix settings, but I think at least some of this is more involved than that. I didn’t knowingly make any settings changes…

and hover over the video I’m still seeing worse odd behavior. First of all, I’m still having the disappearing images problem. I can tell the lightbox link is still active when I hover, so let’s ignore the blank image for the moment. When I click on any of the four (the first two, which are the disappearing ones, are videos, the last two are photos), the lightbox comes up, but as a slideshow format instead of just the photo where I can choose to navigate left or right. There is a “play slideshow” arrow in the middle of the image which I think is new. When I hover I still get the left and right arrows. I don’t recall making any setting changes that would change this, but I’ll admit that I was rushing around before I left for the competition and I might have made a change accidentally. I can’t play the video because whenever I hover on the video image in the lightbox, the hover brings up the slideshow hover and plays the slideshow instead of playing the video. I can see that there is a play video arrow underneath, and I do see a temporary loading progress circle, but then it comes back to the slideshow hover. Also, the different hover spots (left arrow, right arrow, play slideshow arrow, etc) all show up when I hover over the image in general, but when I hover directly over only one of those spots, that’s the only one that shows. I don’t use slideshows elsewhere, so it’s possible that this is normal behavior, but it isn’t what I recall from prior usage. There is also some interference running with my filmstrip sponsor scroller across the top because after I close the lightbox, my scroller stops scrolling. If I click on it, it scrolls backward one image, but doesn’t resume scrolling unless I double-click on it.
Some of this might be browser related. I’m using Firefox 45.0.1.

I definitely removed the ‘waiting for an possible non existent posterfile’ behaviour.
I changed the setting IIG-18 to get rid of the slideshow controls on the lightbox. Not sure if that was always set, but I have never been using the lightbox that way and didn’t want it anyway. Now the video plays correctly without the slideshow overlay getting in the way. There is still something flaky with images blanking out, but I will open a new support issue for that. The video has a bar at the bottom with a start button.
Alternatively you can tick Table IV-G7: Video autostart. The slideshow start/stop and nav arrows were there always, but i recently changed the visibility so that they show up whenever you hoover over the image. There were many people that did not know how to navigate because they never accidently hoovered over the buttons.

Never seen this, maybe your browsr or internet connection? If you do not want a transparent image waiting for the video to get downloaded, provide a poster image, this will load quicker.
Is there a way to disable a slideshow feature on the lightbox so that it is exclusively manual navigation?
Also I don’t understand how to provide a “poster” image for the video? I don’t see any place on the album admin screen where I would specify what image to use for the poster…

Scratch the first question, in my efforts to experiment and work around the settings corruption, I had set IIG-18. Clearing the setting got that behavior back to where I liked it.
Second question still applies though… not sure how to handle a “poster” image for video even though I suspect it might help with the disappearing images problem I’m having…
