I was glad to discover Foo Gallery because I can add title and description. I’ve used it before with links to the image page, but now I need to use a lightbox.

I installed Foo gallery and Foobox, but Foobox never came up as an option in the gallery. The Gallery kept suggesting Responsive Lightbox by dFactory as the choice for a lightbox. Either that or ‘none’.

I linked images to Foobox in the media library hoping that would help. But no.

I de-activated all plugins that have to do with galleries and lightboxes etc, but that did not help ether. In the settings for the gallery I never had the choice of Foobox.

Then I tried to use the dfactory lightbox, but that doesn’t work either. Most times the link leads to the fullsize image plain in the browser. Sometimes I get a lightbox but only for 1 image. I cannot move to the next one, only go back.

Either lightbox would be fine, I don’t mind, as long as there is a lightbox of some sort.

Could it be a server issue? Or something related to the theme? For with another website hosted elsewhere I did not encounter any of these problems.

I have no control over hosting or theme, just have to deal with what we have. Is there a workaround, or am I missing something?

    Advice would be much appreciated.

    Yola

Okay, great, wonderful, perfect: in the time I spent documenting my fruitless efforts it all miraculously resolved itself. Don’t ask me how or why.

GRRRR – this is life – you find you’ve wasted hours struggling with a problem that isn’t there.

Yes I did clear caches and history – several times.

    But I can sleep now.

Still…it would be nice if I understood what’s going on.

FooBox does not show up in the options in FooGallery, so it seems save to assume it is not being used. Also, I kept getting messages that FooGallery was not using FooBox and I should click to update the FooGallery to use FooBox -which I did 15 times and then I still got the message again.

From all this I concluded that the lightbox that miraculously started working last night must be Responsive Lightbox by dfactory. Having two active lightbox plugins to me seemed a bit risky, so I deactivated FooBox.

But then the site went back to a lightboxless state. After reactivating FooBox and clearing caches etc etc the lightbox is back.

Yet I keep getting the message that FooBox is not connected to my FooGallery (and I click again) and FooBox is still not among the options I can choose in FooGallery. I have, in fact, selected the dFactory plugin.

This is illogical and I guess there is some conflict at play. Can anyone explain?

Hi, I do have the same problem here, only it still didn’t start working out of the blue. I hope it will, but for now i have the problem that foobox is not showing in the options, only Responsive Lightbox by dFactory. I also tried dFactory lightbox, but not suitable for me. I also keep getting these messages for updating my galleries with foobox.

    Help, please

I meanhile discovered that the message about FooBox appears every time you update your gallery. So you have to make the connection anew every time and then it appears to be working. At least that’s what I think. And I don’t think that’s how it should be. So I hope someone can tell us more.

Same here. Uploaded the Foo gallery and Foobox plugins and noticed that in the gallery the drop down only allows for ‘none’ or ‘Responsive Lightbox by dFactory’. It doesn’t have an option for Foobox free.

I’ve had to deactivate the Foobox plugin as I was also getting the “We’ve noticed one gallery isn’t associated with Foobox. Click to associate it”. but this makes no difference and the message keeps appearing.

I’ve ended up downloading the Responsive Lightbox by dFactory plugin.

A resolution on this would be great.

I’m interested to see if a resolution appearss on the post as I am having the same issue posted here.

In the meantime, I removed Foobox and downloaded the dFactory plugin and it works fine.

I’ve just tried the Pro version of FooBox and it is working BUT won’t validate a license number! Seems there are issues on both the Free and Pro verisons!

    hi all,

I have managed to fix the problem in that latest version 1.3.8 of FooGallery. Please update and all the issues should be resolved.

I decided to include FooBox support directly into FooGallery, whereas before that logic resided in the FooBox plugin, and depending on which extension was loaded on the FooGallery->Extensions page it would sometimes not work.
