This upgrade has effected me in two main ways.

1.) locked me out my admin…

    2.) Disabled all LightBox functions.

Does anyone know how I can regain my LightBox function… before when someone clicked on a photo on my website the lightbox would show the photo, now it no longer works and I’ve tried a couple past versions of this plug-in.

Does anyone know which version of NextGen Gallery worked properly with LightBox2 and version 3.0.1 of wordpress?

Thanks, any and all suggestions are welcome

  • Lightbox is no part of NGG , so you need to install a seperate plugin. There are NO changes in the effect interface, if you not manually modify the plugin it shuld work with nearly all version…

I’ve been using lightbox 2 with NGG for a year and it’s worked perfectly. But after upgrading it stopped all my lightbox functions….

and I didn’t make any changes to either plugin in the beginning to my knowledge…

    Hi Alex

I’m geeting the same issue with NextGen v1.8.0 and Lightbox2 v2.9.2 on one of my sites (http://www.gfiapac.com)

My other site (http://www.planephotos.org.uk) is working fine with NextGen v1.7.4 and Lightbox2 v2.9.2

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

@leon if I click on your images in the sidebar i can see the images in a Lightbox, anything changed ?

Thanks for very rapid response Alex – I’ve done a little more testing…Lightbox2 functionality works under Firefox 4.0.1 and Chrome 12.0.742.91 but not under IE8.0.6001.19048 on http://www.gfiapac.com

Correct, worked with IE9 & IE7, but not IE8 . I receive some script errors… but to be honest, this is nothing which comes from the upgrade, due to the fact the lightbox is not part of NGG

Understood – odd though that everything appeared to work on on 1.7.4 even under IE8….

strange, indeed, then downgrade for a test back to 1.7.4 and check the behaviour again… I’m interesting if the error disappear

I know it does – try the other site, which is still running 1.7.4 with Lightbox 2…www.planephotos.org.uk

Quick update – I’ve switched to a diffent Lightbox plug-in on http://www.gfiapac.com – now using Lightbox gallery from Hiroaki Miyashita (http://wpgogo.com/development/lightbox-gallery.html) and it seems to be working.

As you said, it looks like a Lightbox 2 issue – thanks for spending the time looking into things.

OK, one difference is that the “broken” side has jQuery added, looks like a conflict. Maybe IE8 has some issues with prototype script & jQuery
