The lightbox should work without installing any other companion plugins. Have you tried the aggregator on its own?
Yeah that was what I tried initially. 😉
I’m running Jetpack, Comments Evolved, and shut down everything except the plugin and it still didn’t work.

Could you also switch to the default theme, since it’s working on various installations of ours, the most likely culprit would be an incompatibility with your theme.

Not sure what the problem might be then, will take note of it as an issue to investigate, but I can’t give you a time frame on it since there are a number of priority support tickets to deal with first.
