    Hi, i’m new in release themes for wordpress.

    I search one license “free but don’t allow modification to the themes ad the source “

    Exist this license?
    For example “Free without remove comments or link about themes author” and only can be distrubuted by the official site like only from wordpress.org and the authors site.

    I need to know id wxist this license for continue to release themes.
    I know, i can use phpobfuscator if i don’t want any modification.
    Please help me..

    No, themes released for WP must be GPL 2 compliant

    Themes are GPL, too

    Basically, you cannot restrict the user. They can edit whatever they like, including removing your links

    Actually, you can release your Themes under whatever license you like, provided that you own the copyright for the code.

    But if you release a WordPress Theme under a non-GPL-compliant license, you won’t be able to submit it to the WordPress Theme Repository, and you won’t find the WordPress community very welcoming of your Theme.

    Actually, WordPress is released under GPL (or later), not specifically GPL v2.
