LF Plugins that simplify and hide things for Contributors but not Admin

I’ve been all over looking at different options.
Flutter (complicated, bizarre interface that I’m not sure how to use)
Role Manager (not updated in years; I hear it’s breaking down)
Cloak (hides things like Pages (good!) but also hides them for the Admin (bad!))

So all in all I’m just looking for something that makes signing up and contributing to the blog a very easy, clutterless, and hopefully personally branded experience. Hopefully whatever suggestions crop up here can help future WP Admins like myself.
