This question sounds similar to my question at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/making-newly-registered-users-automatically-able-to-create-new-bbpress-topics/, but it is different because now I’m trying to use a default user group.

I tried to create a default user group, but I couldn’t figure out how to save it, because the only options I could find were “Add New”, “Duplicate”, “Delete”, and “Translate”, and I couldn’t figure out if any of those options meant save. Is the “default group” the same as the “default user group”?

When logged in users try to use a bbPress forum, why do they get the following two messages?

    The first message is:
    “You cannot create new topics.”

    The second message is:
“You cannot reply to this topic.”

How can I make it so they can both create and reply?

Finally, will they be able to create and reply, if I continue to only use a WP User Manager registration form (because I already have that form set up)? Another reason (for wanting to continue to use WP User Manager) is because I could only find a ProfileGrid login widget, but not a ProfileGrid register widget. Is there a ProfileGrid widget that allows users to do those two things (which are, again, register and log in), and also has the option to log out and has a “Remember me” checkbox?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

You may use the default user group which is created automatically at ProfileGrid installation. You may edit the group details by referring to the following steps:

    1) Login to the WordPress dashboard and go to the ProfileGrid menu.
    2) All Groups will be listed here, then go to the group Settings to change the details for a group.

or you may create a new group by referring to the following steps:

    1) Login to the WordPress dashboard and go to the ProfileGrid menu.

    2) All Groups will be listed here, click on the “Add New” link on the top and you will be redirected to a page to fill in new group details, and save it.

the group cannot be configured as the default group for users, users are required to join the group or the administrator may assign them manually to them. a group will be assigned to a user automatically if a user registers using a ProfileGrid group registration form.

To create a registration form for the group, create a page with shortcode [profilegrid_register gid=”x”] here x is a Group ID. for details on this, please visit the link: https://profilegrid.co/how-display-single-page-registration-form-in-wordpress/

ProfileGrid bbPress extension allows the creation of a topic or replies to users based on the group settings. Once you activate this extension, options “Member Can Create New Topics” and “Member Can Create New Replies” will appear in the group settings. If the extension is activated, the user should be a member of a group and the options should be enabled in that group.

If a user is a member of multiple groups, then the priority will be of the first group’s bbPress settings joined by the user. So, if the options are enabled for the first group the user joined, then the user will be able to create topics and replies. For more details on this extension, please visit the link: https://profilegrid.co/free-bbpress-user-profiles-forum-topics-replies-subscriptions/

You may enable the registration page link in the login area by enabling the option “Show Register Link on Login Form” from “ProfileGrid >> Global Settings >> General” in the dashboard. Currently, remember me option is not available for the login page.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
