[Resolved] Let users create subdomains

  • Hi, I have installed the WordPress Multi-site feature and it allows users to create their own subdomain. But the subdomain doesn’t work unless it is first created in my web host’s server. I host through WestHost. ONLY when I create a subdomain in the cpanel of WestHost first will it work for a user to create their subdomain. Did I install something wrong? I want to allow users to automatically create subdomains without me having to go into my cpanel first and creating it there.

    Thanks,
    Tyson Williams

  • Did you add the wildcard *.domain.ext as a DNS record?

Yeah got it to work! I went into my DNS and added A *.domain.com and it worked!
Subdomains automatically work when created through WordPress! No need to create in cpanel first anymore. Sweet!
