Lesson History / Dates

    Hi, this is a pre-sales question. I’m running an online school and I’d like to be able to have a lesson history attached to each learner. In other words, I need to have a front-end in which I can have my instructors enter a scheduled date for a lesson and then be able to update it with info after the lesson, (completed, non-completed, missed, etc.) I’m guessing the best way to do this would be with the tab system, so that the instructor can see the student file and then go to Lesson tab to add and update sessions, but I’m unsure of the best way to set this up with PD. Do you have some documentation you could point me to?

    Hi Jack,

    Thanks for your interest in Participants Database. This is, however, not something the plugin can easily do for you. Primarily, there is no provision for setting up an ongoing log for each entry, so it would not be possible to add things like lessons and notes to each student’s record. Each record has a fixed set of data fields, it’s what’s called a “flat” database. You’re looking for a relational database.

    While this kind of thing is in the planning stages for Participants Database, it’s not something it can do currently.
