 * Is there a way to get the legend to show on page download? For the monthly view,
   it would be great if – at a glance – you see the colors and labels. To have to
   click to see them, and then the open dropdown covers the menu, is very clunky.

 * Hi [@delawaregrad](https://wordpress.org/support/users/delawaregrad/) ,
 * Thank you for reaching out.
 * It looks like you’re referring to the Category Colors functionality here. If
   yes, may I recommend you go through our [Enabling the legacy Category Colors layout following its integration into TEC](https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/category-colors-legacy-layout/),
   which may help in what you’re trying to accomplish.

 * Thanks! I just added the plugin yesterday, so I didn’t think I needed to look
   at legacy options. I spend a lot of time getting the legend to open on page load
   and then tried to restyle and it wasn’t working very well. This seems like an
   important function. I’ll remove the linking function.
   Is this future-forward
   or will the code/styles eventually change?I greatly appreciate the quick response,
   it’s been driving me crazy.

 * Hi [@delawaregrad](https://wordpress.org/support/users/delawaregrad/)
 * Thanks for your response. I completely understand that you prefer the old layout
   of the category colors for your use case — and you’re not alone! Another customer
   has already submitted a feature request for this, which you can find here:
   [https://the-events-calendar.featureos.app/p/please-bring-back-the-old-category-colors-legend](https://the-events-calendar.featureos.app/p/please-bring-back-the-old-category-colors-legend)
 * Feel free to add your feedback or upvote on the request so our team can review
   it. If multiple users express interest in the same feature, it increases the
   chances of it being implemented in a future release.
 * Regarding your question about code and styles, there will be some minor adjustments
   over time, but not a complete overhaul.
