I can reproduce the same problem with Shortcode Maker Version 4.0.8 and WordPress 4.7.4. With this plugin activated, when I go to edit a page title, for example, I can right-cursor but not left-cursor around in the title field. When I deactivate the plugin, there cursor works normally.
I’m also seeing another problem with drop-down menus no longer appearing off my main menu when this plugin is active. I will write that up separately.
Weird. I happened to have an issue with my jquery drop-down menus too, but mine was unrelated. We use a homegrown plugin to help render those motions, and we were loading some jquery animations before that plugin was referenced.
You might try to isolate the drop-down menus to see if it’s being caused by this plugin or if it’s a side effect of code placement.
I’ve switched to using a different shortcode plugin, called Shortcoder (https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcoder/). It doesn’t seem to have the best blank-variable handling like Shortcode Maker does, but it fixed my side effects.
I switched to Shortcoder as well and it solved both problems for me.
Hello,
We are sorry for your such inconveniance, we are working on the issues you have mentioned and hope these will be fixed in next version.
Hope you will have a nice and better experience with Shortcode Maker than before.
Thanks for being with us.
Hello,
The new version 4.0.9 is released and the issue with left arrow key is fixed . please, update your plugin and the issue will be gone. Let us know if you need further help.
Thanks.
I can verify that Shortcode Maker v4.0.9 resolved the cursor key problem I reported above. (It does not resolve the drop-down menu issue reported separately.)
