Good morning Jacob,
After installing the latest update, the Leave Fullscreen button when viewing in lightbox does not work. I clik on the 4-inward-arrows button and nothing happens.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I just verified that it works correctly in Firefox, Chrome and Edge.
According to the doc ( https://www.w3schools.com/JSREF/event_fullscreenchange.asp ) it works in Chrome version 45.0 and up, Firefox 47.0 +, etc. pls verify your browser version.
Thank you for testing it with those browsers.
My browser is Safari version 13.1.2
I followed the w3schools link that you provided above and tested the fullscreen/exit fullscreen there on the w3schools website. It works great there using my Safari browser.
So, I am wondering if perhaps it is a page load refresh issue? I reported this problem in a separate recent ticket.
Do i understand it right that the screen does not return to normal mode when you tick the exit fullscreen button? Or, is it just the lightbox display that is not being updated?
Can you try https://betatest.opajaap.nl/lightbox-test/ please? I made some changes there.
I tried the https://betatest.opajaap.nl/lightbox-text photos. They open up as fullscreen, but the leave/exit fullscreen (4-arrows) button does not work.
The screen does not return to normal mode when I tick the exit fullscreen button.
Perhaps there any other MacBook Safari users out there who could test this? This would help narrow down the issue (Safari browser or WPPA+)…
On my desktop mac (mini 2012 – OSX 10.13.6) the “leave fullscreen” button at https://betatest.opajaap.nl/lightbox-test doesn’t work with Safari 13.1.2. It doesn’t work either on my macbook pro (2015 – OSX 10.15.6) using the same Safari version 13.1.2.
On both OS, the page works as expected on Firefox (80.0.1), on Brave (Version 1.13.82 Chromium: 85.0.4183.83), as well as on Edge for Mac (85.0.564.44)
Thank you very much @serge-wp!
The w3schools link works using Safari.
But, the betatest link does not work using Safari.
Does this help Jacob?
Pls try this again on ipad and other devices running safari:
Good evening Jacob,
I tested the betatest link on my wife’s iPad, on my iPhone and on my MacBook.
On all three devices, the Leave (Exit) Fullscreen button is now missing.
Hope this helps!
Yes, i understand what is going wrong, and provided a fix.
The fix is available here:
You can download this zip and upload it on the WP Plugins->Add new admin screen; wp 5.5 will allow you to install it by replacing the existing one, so you do not need to de-activate and delete it.
Thanx for the fix, OpaJaap!
I use Safari so little that at first I felt this slight shortcoming wouldn’t affect my sites much, but after checking, I was surprised to note that some 30% of my users are on Safari. All the better that wppa works now as it should. Well done!
Thank you Jacob for the tip about WordPress 5.5 updating plugins using a zip file! The zip file update worked great.
Here are my observations after the 7.5.05.001 update:
Step #1. When opening the photo it appears in normal mode
Step #2. Then click on FullScreen button, the photo goes to Full Screen
Step #3. Then click on FullScreen button again, the photo remains at full screen and does not return to normal mode
Step #4. In order to get the photo to go back to normal mode, I must press the esc key
Is this the behavior you are expecting?
After step #2 the button should change into a four arrow inward icon; when clicked it should return to normal mode.
I tested it on a windows 10 pc running Firefox, it works as expected.
So, apparently your hardware and/or browser act differently. What are they?
Good evening Jacob,
I’m using a MacBook running macOS Catalina 10.15.6 (the latest version).
My browser is Safari ver 13.1.2 (the latest version).
Pressing the four arrow outward icon does not return the photo to normal mode. Nothing happens and the four arrow icon does not change to inward.
The only way I can get the photo back to normal mode (after fullscreen) is by using the esc escape key.
I have turned off ALL Safari extensions (i.e. Grammarly, Pocket, KeeperFill, etc.)
By the way, next month Apple will be shipping the macOS Big Sur and a new version of the Safari browser (ver 14 I believe).
