Support » Plugin: Leaflet Maps Marker (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Bing Maps) » Leaflets Map Marker conflicts with Connections Directory Plugin

  • RobertHarm,

Thank you for the plugin, it has worked wonderfully for me.
However, of late it seems to be conflicting with the Connections plugin by Steven A. Zahm. After a few attempts to correct the issue through Connections, it turns out to be a conflict with your plugin.

What it does when activated, is cause the links within Connections to break. So if I attempt to open one of the links for the “Show Map”, “Show Artist Artwork”, or “Show Artist Biography” on the artists page, it simply bounces me to the top of the page.

So, for now I had to deactivate the Leaflets Maps Marker plugin until there is a fix, or I discover another map plugin that does not conflict with Connections. I look forward to a fix so I can continue using your plugin.

    Here is the test site

    Thanks in advance! Jack

  • Hi Jack,
I installed the connection plugin on my dev site but couldnt reproduce the issue – do you have a test or staging site where I can reproduce the issue as temporary admin (info(a)mapsmarker.com)

    I located the conflict…

Please navigate to the Map Marker setting page and search for the “Deregister Google Maps API scripts enqueued by third parties” option and turn it off.

This option appears to be off by default. I suggest turning this option off since Connections and Maps Marker did not conflict prior to the update that added this option.

    Hope this helps!

I activated Maps Marker, then I disabled “Deregister Google Maps API scripts enqueued by third parties”, and received the below message.

Warning: an active plugin or theme is also embedding the Google Maps API (script handle: cn-google-maps-api) – this can break (Google) maps and address search on backend for Leaflet Maps Marker!
To fix this, please either remove that additional Google Maps API call manually or enable the compatibility option “Deregister Google Maps API scripts enqueued by third parties”

Yet, both Maps Marker and Connections seem to be working ok. What to do now?

    Thanks Jack
