Lazy load Google Maps (6 posts)

We have BJ Lazy Load 0.6.8 with all lazy loading settings enabled. It doesn't yet lazy load Google Maps on our Events Manager site. How could we add lazy loading for Google Maps?

Please see http://demo.wp-events-plugin.com/events/santana-20/ for an example on how EM loads Google Maps.

Currently on your site, Google Maps aren't loaded in iframes. BJ Lazy Load would support lazy loading of Google Maps on your site if they were put in iframes.

Otherwise, you have to create your own lazy loading functionality which could init the maps when the container is within (or close to) the viewport.

    Thanks!

How big a task would the manual making of lazy loading approximately be?

A well experienced web developer should be able to do it in an hour.

Thanks! Any pointers on what's needed to get it working? The less time spent figuring out what to do, the more time for implementing it :)

Asked in http://wordpress.org/support/topic/lazy-loading-google-maps if the feature could be added in Events Manager core or how to go about adding it by ourselves as a customization.
