Layout Question

    Hi,

    I am new at this, I have a blog format I like, however there is one slight change I would like but can’t seem to manage.

    I would like to have the header span the entire screen, and the sidebar start underneath.

    Any help would be great. I have spent an hour searching and going to the codex but I am still confused.

    in the css I tried putting a value in the top field under the #menu heading. Event if I just put a small number like 2 it shoves the whole sidebar menu to the bottom underneath the posts. I thought this top field would allow me to move the menu underneath the header. Any thoughts?
