 * I am trying to run WordPress on my mac and used MAMP to install database and
   that all seems cool and I have edited my config file and copied all the files
   in to the location as described but I cannot manage to get wordpress to install.
   Not sure what I’m doing wrong – I have installed 3-4 time son external hosts
   and it’s been fine but want to develop locally and struggling…

 * No one can help unless you post the error messages you’re getting.

 * ok.
    in the wordpress install instructions it says:
 * Point a web browser to start the installation script.
 * * If you placed the WordPress files in the root directory, you should visit:
   [http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php)
   *
   If you placed the WordPress files in a subdirectory called blog, for example,
   you should visit: [http://example.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php](http://example.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php)
 * and this is where I get stuck – what should I put in the browser address to make
   this work?
 * thanks for your feedback so far

 * that is so weird, I’m sure I did all those things before and it didn’t work but
   this time it did. Obviously I didn’t follow it step by step.
 * Thanks for the encouragment and advice.
