Launching a Microsoft Lync conversation inside a WordPress page

I’m trying to include a link in my WordPress page, that will spawn a Microsoft Lync conversation with a group of people. I would even be happy if I could get it to work with a single user.

From my research is seems that I should be able to use code similar to this:

‘ target=”_parent”>Chat Now (Microsoft Lync)‘

When I try this, the result is the text will display, but not produce a link.

In another content editor I’ve managed to get the functionality I wanted using ‘” target=”_parent”>Chat Now (Microsoft Lync)‘

But this doesn’t work when I try it in WordPress.

Any help would be appreciated.
