@rbergonzini Can you please confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO v14.5? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

If you update to the most current version of WordPress and Yoast SEO, does this resolve the issue with the Configuration Wizard?

If you have already confirmed that both Yoast SEO and WordPress are up to date and the issue is still occurring, we would next recommend performing a conflict check to determine whether another plugin or theme is interfering with the Yoast plugin. We have a guide on how to perform a conflict check available here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts

Also, if you are experiencing difficulties in running the Configuration Wizard, all the settings that this feature configures can also be setup manually by filling out the information in the settings as described under ‘Using the Wizard Manually’ here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-seo-installation-wizard/

The Configuration Wizard setup is an automation of the settings that you input in these areas, so it isn’t required to use the Configuration Wizard in order to configure the plugin’s settings.

This issue typically occurs due to the cURL PHP extension when that unable to perform a cURL request. We recommend you please reach out to your web hosting provider and make sure that the PHP cURL extension is working on your site.

Yoast SEO requires cURL v7.34.0 or greater.

    2. Please, make sure that you’re currently running the latest version of WordPress.
    3. Deactivate and remove the existing version of Yoast SEO from your site.
