Support » Installing WordPress » Latest wordpress update: 18 hours on and site still down – help?

  • Hi, I have had to make a new username. Last night there was an option on my website ( to update to the latest wordpress version and it stated it would only take a few seconds. I left it all night and all today and the site still has this message:

The Site is currently undergoing maintenance, Sorry for the inconvinience
Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin provided by Techie Buzz.”

Because of this i cant logon to my account via wordpress or anything. Is there anything i can do to get my site back to normal?
    Any help would be great.

  • Admin site aside, does the url to your site still work?

no, it doesnt work at all. that message just comes up.

    says its in maintenance mode?

Sorry.. just saw the url. I see it’s not working.

My webhost also displays that message when their pages timeout. Generally, it’s because they host crappy servers that don’t allocate enough memory resources to your site. When you hit the upgrade button, it chokes and times out… usually messing your site all up. I had it happen my last upgrade.

Did you backup your old database and folders before the upgrade or no?

Also.. can you still login to your admin panel?

The only way is through the site i think to access the admin panel, i tried my old username (goonblogger) and it just didn’t work.

I didnt backup anything before the update, i dont really know much about this stuff to be honest!

Does this mean ive lost everything on my site? all my previous posts…widgets etc?

Its on the same server as this site i think: and thats the guy that deals with my server issues and some ads on the site.

your site works when i access it 🙂
