Latest update (v2.8.10) gives upload bug
-
Hi, I just wanted to inform you that the latest update of the plugin (v2.8.10) has some bug, because when I tried to upload a new font on my website I got a message that this media file is not supported. When I switched to the previusn versionm- it seems to work fine.

Hi @albenaabigail,
This is not a bug, but a feature! 🙂 Jokes aside, EML has more strict policy on allowed mime types since v2.8.10.
Please let me know this font file extension and mime type. Also, what is the role of a user that is uploading it?
Thank you!
Best,
-NadiaHey, the font was .ttf – a type I have uploaded millions of times. The role – administrator. Thats why it was very strange why wasn;t able to uploaded it.
Thank you so much! When I make the update I will inform you if everything is OK 🙂
Hey @albenaabigail,
How are things going now with v2.8.11?
Hi! I will try and let you know <3
Hi, I just updated to the last update – still doesn’t allows me to upload a ttf file! This becomes really annoing
Hi @albenaabigail,
Please send me the file you are trying to upload to support@wpuxsolutions.com
WordPress does not allow to upload fonts by default. To allow uploading such file types I need to validate it’s exactly ttf, not something else. Since v2.8 and prior to v2.8.10 such validation was absent that created risks of uploading untrusted file types disguised as fonts.
EML does not allow this anymore and will not allow in the future. So, either you help me to make file types validating proper or get annoyed and use some other plugin.
Best,
-NadiaHi, thanks for you answer! I already sent you the requested email 🙂 Hope to find out soon what is causing this issue 🙂
Hi @albenaabigail,
Thank you! Of course, it will be fixed, and the solution will be found. Thank you for assisting!
Best,
-NadiaHi @albenaabigail and/or everyone interested.
Per a few similar complaints and some research with other users:
To allow uploading fonts please use
font/ttfMIME type forttffont files in WP admin onMedia>MIME Typesadmin page (provided by EML).The same applies to other font types like
otforwoff. Usefont/otfandfont/woffrespectfully.If you already have
ttfin your admin and its MIME type looks likeapplication/ttfor anything else not starting withfont/this would not work. Neither EML nor WP will consider such files as a font and will not inspect or verify such file types at all.In case you already have this row in your admin just delete it, save options, and then re-create with:
ttfas extensionfont/ttfas MIME typeand other options at your discretion.
A better and more user-friendly admin that will not require a user to know MIME types is coming.
@albenaabigail if you still experience issues uploading fonts after following this instruction, please let me know.
Best,
-NadiaHi everyone!
Further communications and research revealed that there is still an issue with uploading fonts through Divi Builder. A new version with the fix is coming.

-NadiaHi everyone!
