Latest update requires php 7.4, but doesn’t check for it, resulting in HTTP 500

basically, what the topic says.
I just updated the plugin to the latest version, and the whole site crashed down with the error
Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version “>= 7.4.0”.
Your installer/updater should REALLY test if the required PHP version is available.
Im running on Debian 10, which only includes php7.3, BTW.
