After updating this plugin, my Contact Form 7 forms no longer shows the green outline and success message when a form is successfully sent.

It still shows the yellow and red outlines when appropriate for invalid entry attempts and failed attempts, and the form still goes through to my email when I test the form with valid information. I have just lost user feedback that the form was successfully submitted.

I would have use the Contact Form 7 section of support for this, but it was working fine until I got today’s CleanTalk update. This plugin is the only one that has had an updated since the change and am starting my troubleshooting at where things changed before working back and wanted to see if anyone else suddenly started having the same issue after today’s update.

    Hello,

I’m sorry about this issue. I have tested Contact Form 7 with the new CleanTalk version. And it was ok.

We need a closer look at the problem.
Please, let us know the following:
    1. The website URL
    2. Version of Contact Form 7.
    3. Addons for CF7 you’re using on your website.

If you don’t want to send us this information via this public forum, you could use our support system (create a support ticket) https://cleantalk.org/my/support or send us a letter to welcome@cleantalk.org.

    Hello,

Contact Form 7 using AJAX for sending the message, so any JavaScript error could effect on it’s functionality.
Please, press F12 on the page with a form and look at the console log. Let us know if you could see any errors there. If you have difficulties with doing so, let us know your website’s URL.

    Please, contact us.

I apologize for not responding before now, I thought I had the page indicated it would email me if anyone replied.

    1. I’ll stick with this forum since between your two points you have guided me to where I needed to solve my issue.

    2. I am using CF7 version 4.5 (current version) – everything on my staging site is running the newest version available.

    3. If Flamingo is a CF7 add-on, it is the only one I am using for CF7.

I ran the console as you directed, and an error popped up about my google analytics call on form submission not working.

    Error:
    SCRIPT5009: ‘ga’ is undefined

This error has always been present on my staging site. I only wanted the production version of my site to affect my analytics and not including the analytics code on my staging site has not stopped the visual confirmation of successful form submissions in the past.

I removed the post-success call to submit information to google analytics and my visual feedback for successful posts returned.

I don’t know if it matters at all, but to get messages to work with my SMTP client I have the CleanTalk ‘Use AJAX for JavaScript check’ setting set to ‘no’. Having it set to ‘yes’ stopped my site from sending messages after upgrading my servers to PHP7.

It looks like this issue was entirely on my side that just happened not to present issues in the past. Thank you for your assistance getting me to where I needed to figure out how the cause of the issue.
