latest update of the theme broke my whole site with a parse error!

after the latest upgrade today (3/3/15) my whole site is broken and i can’t even get to the wordpress admin site. when i try my site (http://tekm.net) i get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/25/6010825/html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/includes/admin/customizer-options.class.php on line 3652

what am i supposed to do now? this is just not acceptable. this causing me a lot of headache. i am about to dump this theme once and for all.

I’m having the exact same issue. Is there a way to get back into my website? I’ve only ever used WordPress to update it or do I need to contact my host company now? (www.kmvet.com)

Hi folks,

this error stems from a functionality that is only available in PHP version 5.4 or later.

So, the quickest fix is: Update your PHP version (or force your host to do it, finally!). PHP 5.3 and older are officially end-of-life and possibly unsecure (also see http://php.net/releases/ as well as http://php.net/supported-versions.php ).

Other quick fix – if you cannnot update PHP out of any reason – is: Replace includes/admin/customizer-option.class.php in your theme directory that causes the error with the fixed version from Github: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community/2cb0c40e853821cbe65855fbc4c264c987906255/includes/admin/customizer-options.class.php

Regular fix will be out in the next update, which supposedly is going to be commited to the WP Theme Directory today or tomorrow.

I am having this exact problem… I updated this morning and my site is now down. I’ve successfully updated php to 5.4, but no change…what next?

Error shows:

This issue should be fixed with the latest version.
